About

I am a Ph.D. research scholar at the School of English, University of Kent (Canterbury, UK). I have received the AHRC CHASE (The Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts South-East England) Doctoral Training Partnership Studentship to pursue his Ph.D. in 2022. My research interests include critical refugee studies, camp studies, spatial theory and biopolitics. For my doctoral thesis, I am interested in exploring contemporary refugee narratives emerging from spaces of encampment around the world and the possibilities of resistance and subversion found within these narratives. I possess a firm interest in engaging with the philosophy of the Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben whose theorizations about ‘camp’, ‘state of exception’ and ‘bare life’ are central to my doctoral project. I also organize Research Salon, a weekly transdisciplinary event aimed for the academic development of arts and humanities doctoral students at the University of Kent.

Education

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in English (Honours) from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira (West Bengal, India) where I received a first-class along with a silver medal award for ranking 2nd in my batch. I pursued my Master’s in English degree at the University of Delhi where I also received a first-class degree.
