About

I graduated with my Ph.D.  in the Near Eastern Languages and Cultures department at UCLA. My major is Hebrew Bible. I do extensive work in  Hebrew, Aramaic, Egyptian, and Akkadian languages.

My emphasis is on the interaction between the Egyptians and the Levant. This is displayed in the cultural, linguistic, and religious intersection of Egypt and the Levant. This takes many forms and is one of the more understudied aspects of the Hebrew Bible.

My current research and dissertation project revolves around Papyrus Amherst 63. This papyrus is written in the Demotic script but the language is Aramaic. This papyrus gives a great deal of insight into the diasporic Jewish community that settled in Egypt.
