About
My primary field of interest is medieval art, with a particular focus on representations of scholastic thought. My current project examines the use of cosmological imagery in pavements in 11th- through 13th-century architecture, with a particular eye to the influence of scientific diagrams on floor decoration. More generally, I am interested in the intersection of secular and sacred in art throughout the Middle Ages, and in using such relationships to better understand medieval culture. Education
