“Perseguidores da espécie humana”: capitães negreiros da Cidade da Bahia na primeira metade do século XVIII

ABSTRACT   The aim of this dissertation is a slave ship captain study that performance acted in the slave trade to Cidade da Bahia in the first mid-18^TH century. This search looks to understand  the experience of this persons in search of wealth and social distinction in Salvador of 18^TH century, theirs material conditions and sea work dangers. In the end, I aproach the economic life of this persons that besides rule the slave ship, made trade in african coast to the  ship owner, other persons and themselves, since they also invested in slave trade. The knowlegde of this persons enlighten a side of African Diasporic History, wich is know the agents responsible for conduct of africans, by force, in several sailing-boat’s rigs [kind], under  unkind hygienic and sanitary conditions for anybody in ship: enslaved african, crew and slave ship captain.   KEYWORDS – Salvador (Bahia); slave ship captain; slave trade.
