Title
Christoph Keller - Poster-Reader for the Aether exhibition at Centre Pompidou Paris
Content
The aether is an elusive concept, both a classical element and a substance. In philosophy it represents the absence of absence, that is, the impossibility to conceive the void. In science it represents an element and a medium, incapable of change and subtler than light. The aether is also the fifth element, with no inherent qualities and which per definition can never be exactly conceived or physically proven. (...) The Centre Pompidou is pleased to invite you to join this journey through an exhibition as a mise-en-scène, whose program articulates itself around the question of the aether in a contemporary discourse: Where do we stand now at the start of the 21st century, having bypassed the modern condition, yet with fundamental questions of science, reality, transcendence and art still left open?
