This group is for those who would like to share resources related to the academic job market (and, perhaps, the alt-ac market). It is a collegial, supportive community driven by hope and pragmatism.

The “site” is where we host blog posts about the job market and instructions on uploading materials. Sample application materials are hosted under “Docs”.

Follow this link to access an editable spreadsheet with the names of post-phd professionals working off the tenure track - in universities, non profits, corporations, and more. These volunteers, who left academia at some point between their first semester of coursework and their promotion to full professor, are available for either individual mentorship or public speaking relating to professionalization. Please note that we are all very busy people! The presence of a name does not imply an obligation to respond. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19XfDmHun6ZJaCkvFfgjSyN4eNAy7r06-OdDqihgozuY/edit?usp=sharing If you are inviting an alt-ac speaker to visit your campus (irl or virtually) it is appropriate to offer an honorarium. At least $250 is standard for an hour-long workshop at an R1 institution. If you are a faculty member instituting alt-ac programming as part of a professionalization initiative, here are some things to think about. If you are a grad student, consider whether you can get a group of students together to have a conversation rather than talking with someone one-on-one. Share the love.
