| Title | AL883: UX Review of My Course |
| Content | I had my 17-year-old daughter review my course while I watched her. Following are the tasks I gave her. How she did on finding the right location for each task within my class on D2L is in Italics and bold
1. Find the Syllabus – If she knew D2L better, it would get to it faster; but still easy to find
2. Find the class schedule and tell me when Discussion Post #3 is due- Easy
3. Find where she should post discussion Post # 1 – took more time because unfamiliar with D2L and was in the instructor’s setup, so there were more options. She felt it should’ve been under “assessments”
4. Find Quiz 2- Easy
5. Find the Contemporary Ceramics Artist list- had a really hard time finding this
6. Find the midterm rubric- Easy
7. Tell me what technologies we will be using in this course- Easy
8. Find the video on pinch pots- Easy
9. Tell me what is required for Artist Lectures- Easy
Overall, she was able to find most things on the list easily. If she had even a little familiarity with D2L it would have been straightforward. She stated that D2L site itself is confusing and not as functional as it should be. |
