DESIGN
Respond to the following questions after reading Chapter 1: Design Process of the text Design Basics. Be sure to answer all parts of the prompt in complete sentences.
- In your own words, how would you describe design?
- How do you determine “good” design from “bad” design? Is it about the aesthetics? purpose? communication?
- Write down at least 10 different places and/or areas of your daily life that you encounter design.
- Attach to this post at least 3 images of designs that you feel are “good”, and explain why. What do you find successful about these designs?
Once you create your post, respond to the posts made by at least 2 of your classmates. What do you think of the designs they chose? It is okay to have different opinions! Difference is what creates richness and variety in the world around us. Explain why you like or dislike their choices, and be sure to back-up your opinion with vocabulary from the chapter, including the elements of art and principles of design. |
