About

Yair Solan is Assistant Professor of Literature and Film in the Department of Humanities & Politics at Nova Southeastern University, specializing in 19th-20th century American literature, film and media studies, and the interrelations of literary and technological culture. His articles have appeared in Modernism/modernity, the Journal of the Short Story in English, and Studies in American Naturalism. At present, he is working on a project that examines U.S. writers’ critical engagement with the screen from pre-cinematic media to early motion pictures. He previously taught at Queens College, CUNY.
