Thomas P. Huston, Ph.D. has been working in the field of education since 1996. He received his M.S., B.A. and B.S. from Purdue University. Dr. Huston continued his education at Indiana University—Bloomington, where he received his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction specializing in curriculum studies and educational anthropology.
Huston currently writes, designs, and teaches remote, asynchronous, bisynchronous, and face-to-face courses. His designs include videos and curricular materials for a variety of international, secondary and university-level students. Recent courses included Academic English, World Literature, Composition, and Business and Technical Writing with an emphasis on Global Communications and Strategy and/or Media Literacy.
His teaching interests include Digital Rhetoric, English, Education, Media Literacy, Rhetorical Approach and Social Movements, Visual Rhetoric, Human-Computer Interaction, and Critical Codes Studies. His past research concentrated on edTPA, assessment, curriculum development, critical reflection and technology. His current scholarship and research includes developing effective curricula for media literacy and the deliberative arts.
