This is witnessed by a variety of events and developments: well- attended exhibitions, so-called “medieval mar- kets”, an ongoing success of historical documentaries, a booming market of specialised books and magazines, as well as star-studded historical movies. The paper introduces the project “Living History: Reenacted Prehistory between Research and Popular Performace” (funded by the Volkswagen Foundation 2012–2015).
