About

I research representations of maroons and marronage in US literatures prior to the Civil War.

I’m interested in nineteenth-century American literature, African American literature, and hemispheric American literatures, specifically the intersections of race, slavery, resistance, freedom and textuality in the Atlantic world of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

I am also interested in anti-racist and anti-colonial pedagogies and assessments at the community college, and in all things related to teaching and researching as a community college faculty member.
