About
My current research centers on the development of digital applications and methodologies that combine visualization, GIS tools, network analysis, and textual mining capabilities. I use these techniques to examine identity formation in borderland communities as well as the distribution of material objects through social and economic networks. I also currently assist faculty research into the digital humanities, including project development and support through my position at UNC’s Institute for the Arts and Humanities (IAH). Before joining the IAG I was director of the Ancient World Mapping Center at UNC Chapel Hill.
I hold a PhD in Ancient History from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Masters in History from UC-Santa Barbara, and previously worked as a software engineer at Lockheed Martin.
