Great post, I agree that these types of things are still happening to minority groups in America and they need to be fixed!

I agree with many of your points, I think that the historical method to be greatly uccesful as well. I tgives the reader a first person view of the hardships during this time.

I think you hit the nail right on the head with your thesis in a lot of ways. It most definitely created much more division in social classes and helped shape even todays social culture. Great post.

I mentioned racism and marraige as well, it is so sad to see that this was so unwlcomed at the time. I said it was important because we must know of things like this to create a better and more accepting future.

great post spencer! I found Darwins theory to be contraversial as well for people at the time, I agree with many of your ideas.

I think Rutkow did a great job of expressing how poorly things were handled when it came to Garfields medical situation. I agree with the new thing you learned, medicine definitely seemed to be looked at as much more casual. Or atleast not enough was known about medicine so it came off that way.

Great post. I also learned of the broader history of the time, especially relating to medicine and of the assassination as a whole. It has made me realize how much I have to learn.

It is nice to (kind of) meet you Nadia. History is important to me in the same way. We must remember what has happened in the past in order to make sure we do not repeat the same mistakes again in the future. I am looking forward to reading more of your posts!
