    About

With a focus on code, communication, and community, we are a Mellon-funded laboratory for Digital Humanities that creates computer tools for solving humanities problems. Our undergraduate researchers are guided by technical staff, faculty, and postdoctoral fellows in harnessing their computer science and programming skills to advance knowledge in the humanities while also empowering further researchers and enthusiasts to use digital tools on their own. The lab supports a DH-focused seed grant program of MIT Faculty and Staff residencies designed to cultivate projects advancing research and teaching at the University and beyond. Our community of digital practitioners reflects the rich diversity of our campus and broader university community. Inclusivity is a core value of the Programs in Digital Humanities at MIT, and our work reflects the mission of the Institute as a whole: to advance knowledge and educate students in science, technology, and other areas of scholarship best serving the nation and the world in the 21st century.
