miki yamada foster’s current work weaves audio and video narratives through craftwork and new/old networks of public display. She is a graduate of the Digital Arts/New Media MFA program at the University of California Santa Cruz. yamada foster is the creator of Feminist Craft Corner and the producer/director of the public/web access television show, Jerkwaterburg. She produces video installation and electronic clothing sculptures at the Center for Intense Magic in Oakland. Her work serves as a means for investigating movement, memory and time. yamada foster produces work that explores the intersections between gender, race and technology. She constructs fantastical worlds and produces them out of queer and feminist discourse as a way of investigating the uncomfortable negotiation between objects and bodies
