Micah Bateman is Ph.D. candidate in English at the University of Texas at Austin, where he is a fellow in the Andrew W. Mellon Engaged Scholar Initiative. Micah is also a M.A. graduate of the University of Iowa School of Library and Information Science and a M.F.A. graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. His dissertation focuses on the digital remediation of poetry into popular web environments. Micah was the co-developer of the University of Iowa’s first Massive Open Online Courses in writing and literature, and he has presented on digital tools for humanities research and the classroom such as TWARC and Omeka.
