The church Matriz of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios is located in the village of Fajãzinha, Flores Island. The church was constructed from around 1771 to 1778 under the guidance of Father Alexandre Pimentel de Mesquita. Work on the bell tower begin on 1747. It resumed in 1796, ultimately leading to its conclusion on May 23, 1834.
