Hi, I’m being a bit late by sneaking this post in today. But I just wanted to echo the thanks already made to Caitlin for hosting this camp and providing us with this great opportunity to learn and reflect.

As a complete newbie to HC I found the whole week to be useful. Highlights though have included –

      1. finding groups of like-minded researchers and professionals in my field (I’ve joined HuMetricsHSS https://hcommons-staging.org/groups/humetricshss-1370894327/)
      2. creating my profile and generally navigating around the site. This inadvertently lead me to discover the HC Trello site where further development of the HC is planned and tracked. https://trello.com/b/4kun971B/roadmap  Loved discovering new ways to manage time and have a play with new tools.
      3. discovering HC sites! Though I haven’t created a site yet this is something I’ll keep on my radar for future projects.
      4. Last but not least, being alerted to new research and teaching inspiration! Thanks to the groups I now follow I was alerted to a great presentation from the ALI Scholarly Librarianship Leadership Conference 2018 https://twitter.com/lastic/status/1149611906941906949

I like the approachable and welcoming tone everyone has given to their interactions too, so thank you everybody, and good luck with your future research endeavours!

I’m a complete newbie to HC and CORE so spent some time searching the repository first. I loved finding so much stuff in there that interested me and led me down a cool rabbit hole of groups and people discussing these topics. One feature I’d like to see is an ability to bookmark items in CORE that can be saved in my profile to read later.

I then made my first deposits to CORE (wahoo!) and opted to share them with this group as I was depositing them. I am a librarian with an interest in open access and open scholarship so you’ll notice this theme in the deposits I’ve made, which are pending review…

      https://hcommons-staging.org/deposits/item/hc:25223/

      https://hcommons-staging.org/deposits/item/hc:25219/

These are my most recent pieces, which is why I chose them to deposit. Earlier works are listed on my ORCID profile, which got me thinking that greater integration with ORCiD would be helpful.

What I find particularly useful when depositing is the ability to share with particular groups and that now have DOIs for my work!
