About

As Head of Belfast School of Art, Ulster University, UK, supporting the learning of students both inside and outside of the studio has been a key driver in the evolution of my research and teaching practices over the past two decades.  My pedagogical research focuses on the construction of value-based praxis in Higher Education learning and teaching.

I am Secretary of GLADHE Group for Learning in Art & Design in Higher Education @GLADHigherED

My arts practice and research focuses on the interdependent relationship between emotional and physical wellbeing. Current work includes challenging attitudes towards mental ill health and the promotion of emotional wellbeing through socially engaged research and an eclectic practice of videos, performance and sculpture. In tandem I am passionate about creating visual narratives informed by bioethical discourses on end of life care, in the articulation of patient narratives as they live through the process of dying.

I am a Board Member and Treasurer of New Life Counselling Charity @NewLife_NI
