I teach early modern English literature at the University of New England, Australia. My research interests are the intersection of literature, culture and the environment with a particular focus on water and waterscapes in the cultural imagination.  I am the coordinator of the UNE Water Research and Innovation Network (WRaIN) and am currently working on a project on the hydrosocial cycle in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century England.
