Layne M. Farmen is a PhD candidate at the University of Tulsa. His work in positioned in the fields of Transatlantic Modernism and Contemporary American Literature, with research interests concerning film and adaptation. His dissertation concerns modernist engagement with the epic in the work of James Joyce, Jean Rhys, and Lynn Riggs through the lens of adaptation theory. He has delivered papers on the work of James Joyce, the cinema of Richard Linklater, Barry Jenkins, and Terrence Malick, and the music of Bob Dylan, and Ms. Lauryn Hill. He has published reviews for the James Joyce Literary Supplement and the James Joyce Quarterly, and currently works as the Book Review Editor of the JJQ.
