Thanks so much for creating this group, Hannah!
Thanks so much for setting this up! The pace was great, and I learned a lot.
Thanks for the example sites compiled in this challenge!
I’m going to sit this one out, thought, because I already have a professional portfolio and blog on WordPress, and my course sites are hosted by my university.
My personal challenge in the next two weeks will be to link to my previous course sites from my portfolio site.
Just in case anyone else had trouble finding the Humanities Commons homepage for item 1 of Challenge 2…….
Once you log in, click on the Humanities Commons logo in the upper left of screen.
It’s such a useful page, and I’m grateful that this challenge prompted me to find it. 🙂
Thanks so much for creating this group!
I’m finishing up the second year of a post-doctoral teaching fellowship and transitioning to a visiting assistant professorship at the same university. My overarching research focus is the way that narrative works to form and maintain communities. Specific research projects have looked at a variety of media from fairy tale books and films to narrative textiles.
By the time my contract ends in June 2019, I need to have found a next thing, so I’ve been trying to work on my public presence online with a Commons profile, a Twitter account, and a portfolio website through WordPress, but it is a challenge!
Like Sara Santos, I’ve debated what the profile picture and cover photo should be for a professional context. As a user, I appreciate the pictures that clearly show a face so I can connect the digital presence to a colleague I’ve seen at conferences, but I also appreciate the pictures that are more interesting than just a professional headshot.
My profile is here:Â https://hcommons-staging.org/members/kkoppy/
For this challenge, I added social media handles that I didn’t have when I first set this profile up, and I added academic interest tags.
