English Literature on Humanities Commons 4 years, 2 months agoI’m Bonnie and I’m the project manager for Humanities Commons. I’m testing to see if I can reply to an older thread. As I don’t want to post without contributing if this works, I’ll leave this video on original pronunciation. I find it fascinating.

José Angel GARCÍA LANDA replied to the topic Problems posting? in the discussion
English Literature on Humanities Commons 4 years, 2 months agoAlthough I see now that I can’t open a new Discussion thread, either! Well now this beats me. Or is it perhaps because new threads have to be approved by the group Administrator? I forget now, Nora, please remind me. Anyway, note that the problem persists in adding replies to older threads (you can try that to see if it works for you) and (for…[Read more]

English Literature on Humanities Commons 4 years, 2 months agoAlthough I see the problem persists with older threads. They won’t admit any new additions. Weeeelll…. I suppose we’ll have to make do at least for the time being and work only with new threads. How new, I don’t know. And as you say, maybe the problem is temporary

Open Access Books Network on Humanities Commons 4 years, 2 months agoHi Eric, again short answer (above a certain number of characters or links my postings here unfortunately don’t seem to work): yes, we use Pandoc among others. See https://gitlab.com/sciflow/development/-/milestones and for technical questions or cooperations best contact Mr. Eichler or Mr. Borchert.

Open Access Books Network on Humanities Commons 4 years, 2 months agoHm somehow the posting here doesn’t work. Here in the absolutely rudimentary version: I would like to ask all publishers and editors who may be represented here in ‘Open infrastructure for OA books’ (commercial, institutional, professional societies, OJS/OMP series, series via repositories, etc.) to answer the survey on further requirements…[Read more]

Open Access Books Network on Humanities Commons 4 years, 3 months agoHi Kevin. Thanks for linking to the OATP tag library for “oa.dei”.
FYI, here’s the OATP tag library for the conjunction “oa.dei AND oa.publishers”:

OATP supports deep links like this to any boolean combination of tags. If you write me directly (peter.suber@gmail.com)…[Read more]

Robert Desmond replied to the topic Metadata: Best practice for Edition info in ONIX? in the discussion
ONIX and Metadata Issues on UP Commons 4 years, 3 months agoAs an aside, the English teacher in me wants to say that the “abridged” adjective is in the wrong place. This is the second iteration of the abridged edition, so my instinct is that you to call it the “2nd abridged edition” because it comes after the “(implied: 1st) abridged edition”.
