I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant and second-year Ph.D. Student in College of Arts and Media at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale. I completed my MA in Journalism at the University of Mississippi, Oxford. My research interests lie in the area of political communication, media effects, and digital media interaction.
Before moving to the United States, I earned an MA and BA degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. For over 15 years, I worked as a reporter and news anchor on the three reputed TV channels in Bangladesh; Independent Television, Channel One, and NTV. My two books on journalism, টিভি রিপোর্টিং (TV Reporting)” and সাংবাদিকতায় সাক্ষাৎকার (Interview in Journalism) are widely read as reference text book at university level in Bangladesh.
I love to make documentary films, especially on humanity and social discrimination issue.
