My library does a lot of these kinds of events. We’ve had puzzle, coloring and lego tables, whiteboard prompts on random topics for the students to write/draw their responses, therapy dogs, zine making etc. As you suggested, we view these as a way to make the library a welcoming community hub – not unlike the public library. I visited CDMX for the first time this August, for a short trip with the ARLIS/NA board and CPAC. We stayed at the conference hotel, and I’m happy to answer any questions I can on that front!
