    About

I currently work as a research fellow at the Lichtenberg Kolleg at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in the project The diaries of Anne Frank. Research—Translations—Critical Edition (for more information on the project visit: bit.ly/1c1tK7N). I hold a Ph.D. in modern (Jewish) history from the European University Institute in Florence. My thesis will be published with Bloomsbury Academic in 2014-2015 as ‘Jewish volunteers, the International Brigades and the Spanish Civil War (1936-39)’. I am an experienced researcher, lecturer and web developer with an active interest in Jewish History/Yiddish Studies, digital humanities and digital history. I also act as developer and editor of the internet portals European History Primary Sources and Yiddish Sources (see links). In addition to my work in Jewish social and political history, I am particularly interested in the methodological implications of using new technologies in historical research and writing. Within this context I guest-edited a special issue of BMGN – Low Countries Historical Review on digital history that was published in december 2013.
