Jill Chisnell replied to the topic Teaching Myself Taxidermy in my Kitchen – a presentation by Cara Barker in the discussion
Decorative Arts, Craft and Design SIG on ARLISNA Commons 2 years, 9 months agoThanks for sharing @bgoodrich. I was just talking about the Ts. Our “fine arts” floor includes M, N, PN1600-3307, SB, and TR. I’ve ordered some great design titles recently that fall in the Ts. Such a bummer to see them going to other floors. Great slides, @cmbarker. Definitely gonna buy Taxidermy Art!

Visual Resources Division (VRD) on ARLISNA Commons 2 years, 9 months agoHmmm. Good question. SCHED allows you to choose your own timezone. Selecting Eastern (Daylight) has our meeting starting at 5pm. Kelin’s message states 4pm Eastern (Standard, which is an error). So does it start at 4pm or 5pm EDT?
Thanks,
Mark

Teaching SIG on ARLISNA Commons 2 years, 11 months agoHey Christine! I would second what Carla-Mae and Lora have said. I would also add that these types of workshops are relevant to the business of libraries in a variety of ways. Engaged or active learning experiences (like the ones you’ve described) are a fundamentally important pathway for learning. They are also important manifestations of…[Read more]

Thanks for starting and continuing this discussion.
I have a six-month sabbatical during the first half of 2024 devoted to the generation of a handbook for materials collections. It’s only very loosely conceived at this point and I’ll have some research leave in 2023 to plot it out further. BUT it would be great to add…[Read more]
