About
My academic qualifications include a B.A. (History), a post-degree diploma in Applied Linguistics, and a M.Ed. (Educational Technology). In spite (or because) of all that, I am a programmer at the Humanities Computing and Media Centre at the University of Victoria, Canada, where I work with scholars to create showcase applications for teaching and research.
My computational skillset includes the usual web technology suspects PHP/MySQL and XHTML/Javascript/CSS, but for the last few years I have working with the slightly more edgy XML/XQuery/XPath languages, which I find particularly satisfying.
My recent work has taken me in to the world of online mapping, which is how I come to be participating in this community.
