    About

Galen Bunting is a fourth-year PhD candidate in English, at Northeastern University. During his master’s degree in English, which he received from Oklahoma State University, he conducted research regarding writing centers and LGBT+ writers. His academic interests are modernist literature, postmodernist literature, and how said literature reflects and propagates discourses around femininity and masculinity: he has presented on his research both nationally and internationally. He has contributed to the Women Writers Project, worked as an editorial assistant for Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society, and currently teaches at Northeastern University. His dissertation will argue that shell-shock narratives provide a cultural index to measure how ideals of gender and masculinity evolved in the aftermath of the First World War.
