Interdisciplinary graduate studies with MA (UC-Riverside) and PhD (NYU) in Ethnomusicology. Long interest in applied and public sector work as well as different models of university-community partnering. A fundamental concern for a principled and ethical and socially engaged higher education, a public one, as a means to correct the increasing encroachment of logics of financialization in US academia. Taught at UC-Riverside, NYU, Sarah Lawrence College, University of Vienna, University of Chicago, West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Been leading seminars in food justice & and immigration at a Unitarian Universalist church. Making a living as contractor, carpenter, cabinetmaker and furniture designer as I continue my 4-year search for a position in higher ed since completing a Post-Doc.
