Emma Mildred Cowell Riggle is a soprano, music historian, conductor and keyboardist. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Voice Performance from Geneva College, where she also studied piano and organ. Emma went on to earn her Master of Music degree in music history and literature from Youngstown State University, where her research focused on English sacred music and metaphysical poetry. Emma serves as the Minister of Music at
Ascension Episcopal Parish. She is also a member of the liturgical choir
Cantores in Ecclesia, and her recent solo appearances include keyboard recitals, art song recitals, and soprano roles in Charpentier’s
Reniement de Saint Pierre and the “Gloria” from Lotti’s
Missa Sapientiae. Emma is the
Music Researcher and Archivist for All Classical Portland KQAC 89.9, Portland’s classical music station. She lives in Lake Oswego, Oregon with her husband Nathaniel and three house rabbits.
