With more than 30 years in broadcasting and design, Elena Maria Rogalle worked as a designer, Art Director and Creative Services Manager/Managing Editor in television (PBS), radio (NPR), and advertising agencies. Her work has been published in The Best in TV Guide Tune In Advertising and she was awarded a National PBS Communication Award for Co-Branding and several ADDY Awards, including one Best of Show Addy Award for Television Promotion. She currently teaches in Full Sail’s Media Design Masters of Fine Arts program while running a own freelance media firm that does pro-bono graphic design and copywriting for nonprofit organizations around the country. Rogalle holds a Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Full Sail University, a Master’s degree in English Literature, a graduate certificate in Gender Studies, a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature/Creative Writing all from the University of Central Florida, and an Associate’s degree in Fine and Applied Art from Florida Eastern College. She is currently working on her PhD in Texts and Technology at the University of Central Florida. Her research interests include Ecofeminist Discourse in the age of the Anthropocene, poetry of the women of the Beat Generation, and ekphrastic poetry. She has presented papers at many academic conferences including the Hawaii International Conference on the Arts and Humanities, Humanities and Sustainability: Ecology in the Information Age, and The Annual English Symposium at the University of Central Florida. Her creative writing has been published in the Florida Review, The Cypress Dome, Revelry: The Literary Voice of the Gwendolyn Brooks Writers Association and The Magnolia Quarterly.
