About
I am course director for MMG (MGI) 301. This large enrollment course of 400-500 students a semester. MMG 301 utilizes a flipped classroom structure. This means students engage with and complete video lectures, assignments, and readings on their own before their weekly in-person section meetings. MMG 301 is a general microbiology course that provides students with the resources and support for mastery of the fundamental molecular biology of bacteria and viruses. This course will form a foundation for a student’s advanced studies in microbiology, specifically in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and more broadly for a lifetime of learning in science and healthcare. MMG 301 will also further advance students’ development as scientists and lifelong learners through regular application of scientific practices and engagement with primary scientific literature.
