After her dissertation at the University of Oldenburg on “Celeste Coltellini (1760-1828) – Lebensbilder einer Sängerin und Malerin” (2015 published by Böhlau), Carola Bebermeier initially worked as a research assistant at the Universities of Oldenburg and Cologne before moving to the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2019, where she currently helds an Elise Richter position. Bebermeier is a founding and board member of the Society of Global Nineteenth Century Studies (SGNCS) and focuses her research to interdisciplinary and international exchange with a particular focus on the music cultural practices of the opera, domestic music-making, music cultural transfer processes, as well as the relationships between visual and auditory cultures.
