About
I am Course Organiser (Department Chair) and Lecturer in Greek and New Testament at Edinburgh Theological Seminary. I received my PhD in New Testament at the University of St Andrews. My doctoral research focused on the function of Jesus traditions in the rhetoric of the epistles of James, 1 and 2 Peter, and Jude. I am broadly interested in the study of Christian origins and especially in the diverse interpretive practices of the early churches. I am also intrigued by questions related to the development of the NT canon, particularly the gathering of the Catholic Epistles as a coherent collection of texts in the early manuscript tradition.
Prior to my role at ETS, I taught Greek and biblical studies courses at the undergraduate level in Uganda and Serbia. I also am an ordained minister in the Free Church of Scotland, with six years of pastoral experience. Education
