This conference paper focuses in particular on the dismissal of French writer Remy de Gourmont’s children books both by Gourmont himself and by scholars. In this paper I also show why we should care about these children’s books and discuss a few of the themes
they deal with and especially how some can be reminiscent of themes found in Decadent books. -
