My dissertation, tentatively titled Situating Tamil Cinema, interrogates contemporary Tamil cinema’s impetus to reach out for a global audience through its strategies of production and reception in the digital era. The project’s areas of interest include world cinema, digital networks, genre conventions, and stardom. Tangentially, some satellite projects include the study of gender and stardom, politics of fandom, and digital fragments of cinema. Memberships
