This group seeks to promote and support female scholars of literature as experts in their fields and professionals in their own right. The group is a step toward building a database of scholars to be launched on a website in line with other “Women also Know …” sites. See us on Twitter @WeAlsoKnowLit

      Dear All,

I started this group almost a year ago.  We have 53 members and I hope more will join us.  Please invite others whom you may know.

We have a few members who have deposited their work with the group when uploading to the CORE Repository.  I hope more of you will do the same.  Also if there are any announcements you have or discussion topics you would like to start, please do!

I initially thought this group could be something like “Women also know History.”  Some of us had a plan to build such a thing, and I think it felt sort of huge and unwieldy.  But Humanities Commons is a great space for building, and if any of you would care to work together to build a web site and perhaps begin to create a presence, I am here for that.  I built my own fairly rudimentary site without any previous experience from an HC template, so with some team work, I think we can do it.  Feel free to message me here, or email calfar@hunter.cuny.edu.  (Through August you will get an auto-reply in return, but I check that account fairly frequently–ok, daily.)

Otherwise, it would be great to hear all about your work and what you need to get it done.  Perhaps this group can also be a kind of resource for research, sharing, asking for help.

All best to you as you begin your summer rest, relaxation, and (I know) lots of work!

      Cristina
