The Society for Music Theory’s Autographs and Archival Documents Interest Group promotes scholarship that relies on sketches and other archival documents for analysis. We also support the creation of courses on this topic. This interest group was inaugurated at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Society for Music Theory in Vancouver. Patricia Hall was the founding chair. The current co-chairs of the group are Laura Emmery and Áine Heneghan.

      Many, many thanks and congratulations to all the excellent presenters at the AADIG’s annual session (Laura Hibbard, Barry Wiener, Rachel Mann, and Brent Yorgason)! It was an impressive showing and scholarship of the highest quality, all around. My thanks also to all who attended, asked questions, and contributed to the vibrant scholarly community of our Interest Group. Thanks, too, to my co-chair Josh DeVries, and congratulations to our incoming co-chairs, Danny Jenkins and Philip Stoecker, who will be fantastic in guiding the group going forward. It has been a sincere pleasure to help direct this group for the last two years, and I look forward to our continued interactions. I hope to see you all again soon, and hopefully in person!
