The Society for Music Theory’s Autographs and Archival Documents Interest Group promotes scholarship that relies on sketches and other archival documents for analysis. We also support the creation of courses on this topic. This interest group was inaugurated at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Society for Music Theory in Vancouver. Patricia Hall was the founding chair. The current co-chairs of the group are Laura Emmery and Áine Heneghan.

At the end of the 2023 SMT meeting in Denver, Danny Jenkins’s two-year term as Co-Chair of SMT’s Autographs and Archival Documents Interest Group (AADIG) will come to a close. The election for a new Co-Chair is now open. Voting will continue through Monday, November 6, 2023 (12:00 p.m. EDT).
As per our by-laws, the election will commence one month before SMT and will be electronic and anonymous. The new Co-Chair will be announced at our Interest Group meeting in Denver. Their term will begin at the end of the 2023 meeting and they will serve as Co-Chair for two years. To cast your vote, please visit https://forms.gle/8kpWCAAuuBnJocLE9
