The Post-1945 Music Analysis Interest Group is a discursive space for scholars of music after 1945, with an emphasis on the modernist, experimental, and avant-garde. Through its annual meetings and online communications, the group aims to strengthen, support, and develop its members’ ideas and sense of community. It also seeks to bring attention to and foster scholarship on post-1945 music both within the Society for Music Theory and in music scholarship at large.

      Hello all!

This serves as the final reminder that our upcoming Post-1945 Music Analysis Interest Group meeting is scheduled for 12:30 PM on Friday, November 10, in the “Silver” meeting room. We will be hosting an exciting session on electronic and synthesized sound. Jennifer Iverson will give a featured talk on the topic of her current book project, and we will have two introductory presentations by Kate Mancey and Noah Kahrs that will serve as catalysts for discussion with our featured speaker and our members. We look forward to seeing all of you at the meeting!

      My best,
      Will Ayers
