The acronym STEM stands for “science, technology, engineering and mathematics”. STEAM (adds “arts” to STEM) is simply a variation of STEM. The word of “arts” means application, creation, ingenuity, and integration, for enhancing STEM inside, or exploring of STEM outside. It may also mean that the word of “arts” connects all of the humanities through an idea that a person is looking for a solution to a very specific problem which comes out of the original inquiry process. STEAM is an academic term in the field of education.
