We are pleased to announce a meeting to discuss the formation of a Study Group or potential research network for Music Cultural Collections. This meeting will outline the challenges and possibilities of the sector and the potential benefits of establishing a collaborative network to draw together ideas and expertise in this field. Topics to be discussed broadly include, but are not limited to, archive activation, financial sustainability, platform technology/digital preservation and dealing with ethically problematic content. This meeting is open to all with an interest in cultural collections, but particularly those who work in the care and curation of, or research using, these materials.

This meeting forms part of the Musicological Society of Australia’s 2022 annual conference, which is this year conducted entirely online. Conference registration is essential to receive the zoom link to attend the meeting; however, registration is free.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, 1 December 2022, 12:30 – 1:30pm AEDST
