      Hello everyone!

I was hoping that someone could answer a question for me and help me out a little. I am a PhD student in Classics with no background on Hinduism and I am preparing a series of blog posts on gods and myths related to writing in different cultures of the world. I have read that the goddess Saraswati is the patron deity of writers and that it was the god Brahma who gave the letters to humans. Is this true? And if it is, where could I find more and reliable information about this? Do you know more about this story or any other useful facts?
If anybody knows any other deity/myth/mythical character/tradition in Hinduism related to writing, I would really appreciate it if you could let me know and leave a reference to it.

If you would  like to see what I did for other cultures so that you can help me or just out of curiosity, you may see previous posts here: https://crewsproject.wordpress.com/category/writing-gods-and-myths/

Thank you very much for your help!
