This is a very well written intro, and I enjoyed reading it. I have only a few comments:

1. I’m not convinced about the socialization/inheritance distinction. Maybe be more explicit in defining your terms because otherwise they seem to overlap quite a bit.
2. You do a good job of weaving together a wide variety of theorists — but I find myself wondering what your specific position is. You are currently a student and I assume that you have direct experience that relates to this topic. Hopefully this is something that will be developed in the full length paper.
