The article presents the contents of an annuity letter of a citizen of Steeg, who borrows money from a nobleman of the Viertälergebiet, which turned up in an online antiquarian bookshop. The transaction is confirmed by the aldermen of Bacharach. The entire document is one of the few late medieval sources for the history of the so-called Viertäler (Bacharach, Steeg, Diebach, Manubach).
