Compared to other traumas, sexual assault is linked to a greater incidence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and the progression of PTSD may vary depending on the type of trauma. The progression of PTSD following a sexual assault hasn’t been broken down, though. Findings show that severe PTSD occurs frequently after sexual assault. In this research piece, I looked at the harmful effects of rape and how to deal with emotional illnesses. This work must aid rape victims in overcoming their fears and bringing the offenders to justice.
