Allan Savage deposited A CHRISTIAN PHENOMENOLOGICAL CULTURE: A in the group
Philosophy of Religion on Humanities Commons 3 years, 9 months ago In this short book, only an introductory and partial discussion can be undertaken respecting the issues distinguish between religious (philosophical) and secular (political) cultural values from a phenomenological point of view. Further, the ideas I consider here are not original. By and large they derive from a new interpretation of human consciousness and are an extension of the notions presented by Leslie Dewart in The Foundations of Belief. The the heightened consciousness of Catholic philosophers and theologians calls for a re-assessment of Christian culture. The contemporary dominant interpretation of Christian culture, based on Hellenic philosophical concepts which are inadequate, requires that the faithful reassess this inherited understanding. A re-assessment of philosophy and theology must be done in light of a critical historical interpretation and the recognition that the capacity for human consciousness evolves.
