Spanish abstract: ‘Modernidad Líquida’ de Zygmunt Bauman ofrece perspectivas iluminadoras para la interpretación de muchos fenómenos característicos de cultura y la economía del siglo XXI. Leemos a su luz la política de endeudamiento y déficit sistemático de los estados nacionales, y en concreto de España, promovida en años recientes por el establishment político, por la Unión Europea y por otras entidades internacionales, así como sus consecuencias. ____________________________________________________________________________________________
English abstract: Zygmunt Bauman’s ‘Liquid Modernity’ offers crucial insights for the interpretation of many characteristic 21st c. cultural and economic phenomena. The current policy of systematic deficit and debt for national states, and specifically in the Spanish case, promoted by the political establishment, by the European Union and by other international entities, as well as its consequences, are examined here in this light.
